since 2d is 4+ per blurb i bid 2h. GIBidiot jumps to 4.
I think the GIBug here is when partner has a range of "points" assume lowest of range.
But then it knows crap about the blurbs.
Luckily I was not doubled.

i think that is 0-4 hcp for 2C.
But why does gib think you might have more than 4H. bidding even 3H is to high if a 4-3 fit with you having very little.

Standard GIB canape responses to double. B-) Either clubs or hearts could be the longest suit.

According to the descriptions, bidding 2 shows you're a maximum of the 0-4 range. 4 points, 5 clubs, 4 hearts actually seems to make game (double dummy) a surprising proportion of the time despite the Moysian fit; I guess due to the fact that every finesse is guaranteed to work. Looks crazy and I don't think it's right but I can actually see why GIB bid it.

looks like i should pass 2d then? or pass 1Nx where because of defensive carding they always make 1 to 3 overtricks in my experience OR just bid 3c over 2D.

yes, all finesses on but no entries to take them. i suppose if i have a king it will make 4H even with the terrible break.

good by gibby. is 2c ok or pass? id 2d pass ok or bid 3c?

2c is normal. 2d should show much longer suit which ought to be passed by West. GIB really ought to pass 2c. And 4H is nuts with only 3.

There's actually a decent argument for passing the East hand, esp against Robots who won't psych a 1nt opener, both South and West rate to be close to broke, west may not be in a good position to know to leave it in when the contract is failing.

The problem in all these type of problems is there is no invite to give partner a chance. GIBBO just jumps to game.
Especially in pass-and-murder partner later situations.
